Kawartha Spice Company manufactures spice blends and seasonings in Peterborough, Ontario.  All of our spices and herbs are gluten-free, salt-free, Non-GMO, and Vegan, selected for their premium quality.  The spices and herbs are a substitute for salt and accentuate flavours.  

Our products are made, one batch at a time, with customers’ health and well-being in mind, to make home-meal preparation easy because each blend consists of the right amounts of spices and generous amounts of herbs to season with during preparation.  The spice blends take your cooking to a new level of deliciousness.

Kawartha Spice Company was born out of necessity after I was diagnosed as Celiac in 2003.  I discovered that the commercial curry powder that I was using contains wheat fillers; an ingredient that does not have to be listed on the label as per Canadian Labelling requirements.  
I started making my own curry powder, using my mother’s recipe which we made back in Guyana.   I look at this as a journey that started decades ago, and always brings back good memories of my mother and I working together as we washed the spices, drying them in the sun, manually grinding them to make what I now call the Guyanese Curry Powder.
